Okay – it wasn’t pretty – but it was a win! So after the 3 first quarters, that was a disaster with only 3 points to The Saints, the stadium woke up in the 4th!!! People went from silence and disbelieve to loud, enthusiastic and crazy as The Saints finally took the lead and won. It was kinda crazy seeing live how nerve breaking it is when the kicker starts to fail :-O

No matter the outcome it is always a party before the game. So many happy and friendly people all over the place! Music playing more load one place than the other – cars and tents with food and drinks; just awesome! I approached a guy on the parking lot and asked if I could buy a couple of his fried chicken on the table right behind his trunk. He said: “hell no – I don’t want your money – you can just grab whatever you want!” It turned out that he was a famous guy on the lot; his name is Tony and he has been there since The Saints started in 1967! He has the same spot every year – just to the right of main entrance – second row on the corner. Before I left for the game I also was asked to fill up my huge cup – and it wasen’t water – besides the ice cubs that also was added 😉

I also had time to pay The Saints Hall Of Fame a visit before the game – it is always exiting. The two new once this year are Lance Moore and Pierre Thomas as y’all know.

When it is a win the hole city continous the party and celebrate the victory on every street, bar, restaurant – and especially on Bourbon Street! I got some merchandises from the game when I was in town – a towel from the stadium, a 2018 schedule both on a card and on a sticker with a magnetic pad on the back.

The reason for me to write this in English is due to my meeting with a very good friend that I met twice last week after the game 😉 He – Bobby D. Ezell – is a member of The Board of The Saints Hall Of Fame. He posted on Facebook that he had a natural size picture of Reggie Bush to put on the wall. Unfortunately it could not be folded and brought to Denmark. But instead he invited me to his home to see his Black & Gold/New Orleans Saitns collection that he wanted to cut down a bit and organize to free some space. (read his wife think it is an good idea ;-))

The entire upper level of his big, beautiful house was filled with all kinds of awesome authentic stuff. Signatured items the most, books, cards, coins etc., etc.. I was so lucky that I got a lot of items with Morten Andersen.

Besides the fantastic cards, CD’s/DVD’s and pictures, I bought a football from 1991 with 11 signatures – 9 are in The Saints Hall of Fame, including the head coach  – and 2 of the 9 are in NFL Hall Of Fame! 😉

Jim Mora coach SHOF
Bobby Hebert #3 SHOF
Morten Andersen #7 SHOF & NFL HOF
Dalton Hilliard #21 SHOF
Buford Jordan #23
Reggie Jones #27
Vaughan Johnson #53 SHOF
Rickey Jackson #57 SHOF & NFL HOF
Stan Brock no number but is #67 SHOF
Jim Dombroski #72 SHOF
Jim Wilks #94 SHOF

And I found an original jacket from the 70’s that fitted me.

So I feel so lucky and appriciate that I was invited to his house to see all those items and meet him in person – thx Bobby!!!

If any one has a favorite player and wants to buy an item with a signature from the person, I’m sure Bobby has it. Just contact me and I can ask if he has something he is interested in selling.

Who Dat?! ⚜️??

Fantastisk artikel.! Bobby har noget af en samling Saints ting. Vel sagtens noget der får en enhver Dansk samling til at blegne.
Glæder mig meget til min tur om nogle uger… Der kommer selvfølgelig også en rapport her til sitet. Who Dat!
